What is this place?

This my home on the internet. This is where I share my thoughts that are longer than 140 chars.

Why does this place look rubbish?

As with all homes when you first move in you start decorating and this home is no different, so please bear with me whilst I customise my site and add my portfolio. In the meantime please feel free to have a look through my blog to see my thoughts and experiences and share yours.

I have finished preparing the content and am now building in the last few pages. Once they are in I am going to be blogging a lot more!

What do I do?

I am taking this time (and space) to define what I do. Up until now (pre 2012) I have considered myself a creative developer who dabbles in systems architecture, requirements gathering, business analysis and product development. This does not easily roll off of the tongue when somebody asks you "what do you for a living?" at a wedding.

I have been lucky enough to work with a very talented experience design (XD) practioner who has suggested to me that I am one too. I looked at the Wikipedia article on the topic and I see where he is coming from. I do a lot of things listed under that role pretty well. I am not sure that I tick all of the boxes, for example my information design creation skills are not to best. I would like to do a little bit of maths on the job title:

1
(experience designer + developer) - designer = experience developer

This describes how I see myself but I am pretty sure there are no jobs titles like this in the world at the moment. I will have to stick with confusing people at weddings for now!

Do you want me to help you?

I would love to help you! Feel free to get in touch, through Twitter, LinkedIn or good old email.
